Field Dedication
The Forest Akers Trust Practice Complex and Ed & Wanda Eichler Family Teaching Tower and Gallery will be dedicated on Friday, August 29, 2014.

The Spartan Marching Band will hold an open practice at 3:00 p.m. followed by a dedication ceremony at 4:00 p.m. The public is invited to these events prior to the MSU vs. Jacksonville State football game.

The newly constructed turf field and facilities will be used for practice by the Michigan State University Spartan Marching Band and thousands of students each year who participate in Kinesiology classes, intramural sports activities and athletic camps.



Friday Night Pre-Game Party - hosted by the Oregon MSU Alumni Club
Even if you don't have tickets to the football game, that doesn't mean you can't party like you do! Join fellow Spartans and friends for a special event on Friday night. Have dinner, mingle with special guests and get your Sparty on before Saturday.

For visitors coming from out of town, check out the accommodations at the Kennedy School. The former grade school has found new life as a brew pub and hotel.

The MSU Cross Country Team will participate in the Bill Dilinger Invitational in Eugene, OR on September 5, 2014.



Oregon Pregame Tailgate
1:00 - 2:30 p.m. Pacific Time (kickoff: 3:30 p.m.)
Location: Essig Field, north of Autzen Stadium, across MLK Boulevard

Price: $35 per person for adults; $15 per person for children 12 and under.

Kick off the team's trip to the West coast at the MSU Alumni Association and Spartan Fund's pre-game tailgate. Join us as we support Coach Mark Dantonio and the MSU Spartan Football Team with special guests MSU Athletics Director Mark Hollis and the MSU Cross Country Team. Don't miss out on an excellent place to meet friends and socialize before the game!

Join us for good food, music, contests and prizes. Take a photo with Sparty and enjoy the company of university VIPs and fellow Spartans! A cash bar will be available where permitted by local law.

Note: Parking is not included with tailgate registration and is very limited near the stadium. Local game day shuttle information is available online.

Leaving from downtown Portland (9:30 a.m.) and the Tualatin Park & Ride (off I-5, 10 a.m.)

“On the Banks of the Grand River” Oregon Outdoor Game Watch in Grand Rapids
Time: 6:00 p.m. – 9:30 p.m. (kickoff: 6:30 p.m. Eastern Time)
Location:  Ah-Nab-Awen Park, 220 Front Ave NW, Grand Rapids
Price: No cost. Food will be available to purchase from vendors.

Join us at Ah-Nab-Awen Park in Downtown Grand Rapids for a family friendly watch party for the MSU vs. Oregon game. Watch the game on a giant 12' x 22' LED screen with fun for kids of all ages. Come throw down a blanket and enjoy a great MSU football game with hundreds of your fellow Spartans. Attendees will be able to BYOB (beer/wine). Food will be available for purchase from local food vendors.

The MSU College of Human Medicine is hosting an alumni tailgate beginning two hours prior to the start of the football game. Their tent is located just across from the visitors’ parking lot on Red Cedar Rd. More information available online.

Registration opens at 8:30 a.m. The program begins at 9:00 a.m. and the buffet is open from 8:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m.

MSU Families @Homecoming Tailgate
Hosted by the Association of Future Alumni & the MSU Alumni Association.

Located on the banks of the Red Cedar, tailgate includes photographs with Sparty, tailgate lunch, exclusive performance by the MSU Dance Team, cheerleaders and Drumline, traditional tailgate games, activities and much more.

MSU College of Education 2014 Homecoming Tailgate
10:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m. - Dem Hall Field
It’s that time of year again! We invite you and your family to join Dean Heller, the MSU College of Education Alumni Association Board, faculty and staff for food, live music and FUN at the college’s complimentary annual homecoming tailgate. We look forward to celebrating with you!

The MSU College of Agriculture & Natural Resources will be hosting its 39th Annual AutumnFest tailgate before the MSU vs. Ohio State Game at the MSU Pavilion. AutumnFest begins at 4:30 p.m. Can’t get football tickets? The game will be shown in high definition in the Pavilion’s Auditorium. Stay after AutumnFest and watch the game with us in a warm dry location with 360 of your closest friends. Food included. More information is available online.
