Spartan Move-In

Help Welcome New Students to Campus

In past years, the Spartan Move-in program allows volunteers to return to campus to assist incoming students with the move-in process. In alignment with public health recommendations, the Michigan State University Division of Residential and Hospitality Services (RHS) is reassessing their move-in plan in light of the novel coronavirus. We are unsure at this time if volunteers will be needed, but will update this website with additional information as it becomes available.

This year will be a unique experience for new and returning Spartan students given these unprecedented times. A mixture of nerves and excitement is normal, but this semester brings a unique sense of uncertainty.

We are is seeking alumni volunteers to help make the move-in experience special for new and returning students this semester. We want each student to feel welcomed and understand the strength that comes with being a Spartan. To do so, we are providing an opportunity for MSU alumni to send a custom postcard to one of the residence halls welcoming the students.

It’s free and simple to participate and allows you to provide a special welcome message for new and returning students. Simply fill out the online form before Aug. 10 and we will print and send your postcard.

Each residence hall will receive one postcard per student room. Depending on the level of participation from MSU alumni, we may duplicate messages to ensure each room receives one welcome message.
