Spartan Move-In

Help Welcome New Students to Campus

Welcome new students to the MSU family when you volunteer for Spartan Move-In,  Aug. 29-30, 2020!

Join Residence Education and Housing Services in this collaborative effort that brings alumni and community members together for residence hall move-in. The Spartan Move-in program allows volunteers to select the campus neighborhood where they want to work, which allows them to revisit where they lived as a student.

VOLUNTEER SHIFTS | 8/29 & 8/30

With more than 500 people coming back to help each year, we provide over 3,000 hours of service annually to help make new students' move-in smooth and enjoyable.

A variety of shifts are available on Saturday and Sunday:

  • 7:30-10:30 a.m.
  • 10 a.m.-1 p.m.
  • 12:30-3:30 p.m
  • 3-6 p.m.

Spartan Move In

In appreciation of their hard work, volunteers are given a Spartan Move-In t-shirt and complimentary meal in one of MSU’s award-winning residence hall dining services.

To ensure the safety of all involved, no one under the age of 13 may accompany volunteers to their site.

Volunteers should expect a high level of physical activity (walking, standing, lifting, etc.) throughout their shifts.
