Welcome new students to the MSU family when you volunteer for Spartan Move-in, August 25-26, 2018!
To accommodate MSU’s largest freshman class in history, freshmen in several halls will be moving in on Saturday, August 25. Please consider volunteering in Holmes, Bailey, Rather, Wilson, Case, McDonel and Snyder/Phillips to accommodate the additional volume. To request one of these specific halls, please list your preference in the “physical restrictions, special requests or number in group” field when registering.
With more than 500 people coming back to help each year, we provide more than 3,000 hours of service annually to help make Michigan State move-in smooth and enjoyable for our new students.
ABOUT THE PROGRAM
Since 2011, the MSU Alumni Association has partnered with Residence Education and Housing Services to bring alumni and community members to campus for residence hall move-in. The Spartan Move-in program lets volunteers select the campus neighborhood where they want to work, with most people choosing to go back to where they lived as a student.
In appreciation of the work volunteers do, they are given a move-in t-shirt and a complimentary meal in one of MSU’s award-winning residence hall dining services.
PLEASE NOTE: to ensure the safety of all involved, no one under the age of 13 may accompany volunteers to their site.
