This week, we are celebrating Women Entrepreneurship Week at Michigan State University. As part of our celebration, we are excited to welcome Marissa Siero to the Innovate State stage! As an entrepreneur herself with one patent and a slew of accolades recognizing her innovation and inventive spirit, Marissa Siero was recently selected to serve as Workplace Director at the nation’s first-ever Lodgic Everyday Community. In her role, Marissa is responsible for cultivating community within Lodgic, and takes the lead on nourishing the aspirations of all who walk through the Lodgic doors. Prior to joining the Lodgic team, Marissa worked as the Incubation and Entrepreneurship Outreach Coordinator at the world-recognized EnterpriseWorks, University of Illinois where she managed the Illinois University Incubator Network and the University of Illinois EDA University Center. Marissa made her move to EnterpriseWorks after being promoted from Vice President of Sales and Marketing for IntelliWheels, to President and CEO in October 2016. Marissa is an active community volunteer and has earned: 2016 Small Business Administration InnovateHER Challenge National Finalist; 2013 40 Under 40 “Woman of the Year” by Central Illinois Business Magazine; 2012 Innovation Award for Social Entrepreneurship at the Champaign County Innovation Celebration, to name only a few. Marissa is a Community Health PhD candidate at the University of Illinois and expects to graduate in Spring 2019. She earned her Master’s degree in Kinesiology from Michigan State University and her undergrad from Ithaca College in New York. She and her husband welcomed their first child in 2018.
