MSU Alumni | Michigan State University

Have you heard? The MSU Alumni Association has removed "association" from its name. Here are the “Five W’s” to provide an explanation.

What?

After much thought and consideration, the MSU Alumni Association has removed "association" from its name.

Who?

If you are an MSU alumnus or alumna, you are a part of the body MSU Alumni. The MSU Alumni Office serves to inspire and empower Spartans to engage in lifelong relationships with Michigan State University and each other.

When?

The change is effective immediately, however the use of the word “association” is throughout many communications and materials and it will take a while to remove all references. Our office is working hard to update our internal and external documents as well. You may have noticed some of these changes on our website and social media pages already. Our goal is to have any mentions of “association” completely removed by December 31, 2019.

Where?

Everywhere! One of the great things about Spartans is they are spread around the globe. Wherever you are you are part of MSU Alumni and the MSU Alumni Office is here for you to provide resources and opportunities to connect, serve and invest with MSU Alumni worldwide.

Wherever you are, you can stay connected to the university by following our social media pages below.

Why?

On July 1, 2016 the MSU Alumni Association became a non-dues paying organization. The name change occurred to better reflect the MSU Alumni Office’s updated mission and values.

The MSU Alumni Office looks forward to connecting with you! If you have any questions or concerns regarding this name change, please contact director of marketing, Jenny Jimenez
