Event Description

Zarena Aslami, associate professor, Department of English The literary genre of the novel is generally considered to be one of the primary unique accomplishments of modern western European culture. However, its origins lie not only in ancient cultures but also in nonwestern ones. This presentation will look at different theories of the history of the novel and show how the sense of the modern self as an individual, which novels are credited with helping to shape, emerges from transcultural and transhistorical exchanges.
