University Activities Board Presents: Ice Cream Tasting at the Rock
4:00-7:00 p.m.
MSU Rock
Sample 10 different flavors of MSU Dairy Store ice cream. First 100 people get a free homecoming t-shirt. 
 

TUESDAY, OCTOBER 2

University Activities Board Presents: Sounds of Homecoming & Open Mic Night 
7:00-10:00 p.m.
Beaumont Tower Courtyard
Enjoy music from MSU's a cappella groups, or step up to the microphone and express yourself through song or spoken word at open mic night. 

 

WEDNESDAY, OCTOBER 3

University Activities Board Presents: Craft Night 
7:00-10:00 p.m.
MSU Union Building, Room 50
Decorate your own canvas homecoming banner. While supplies last. Free for all MSU students plus one guest. All must show ID.

 

 

THURSDAY, OCTOBER 4

 

"The Road to Little Rock" Film Screening and Conversation with Ernest Green
2:00-3:00 p.m.
WKAR TV Studio A (Communication Arts and Sciences Bldg, first floor)
Join WKAR for a special screening of the film, "The Road to Little Rock" followed by a conversation with Ernest Green, led by MSU Communication Arts and Sciences Dean Prabu David. The conversation will also be available from WKAR via Livestream or at Facebook. Event is free and open to the MSU community.

3rd Annual Exercise is Medicine on Campus (EIM-OC) Healthy Homecoming Walk
8:00 a.m.-4:00 p.m.
Demonstration Hall Field 
Join us in a friendly walking competition between Michigan State University and other EIM-OC Universities nationwide. The challenge will consist of walking laps on the sidewalk around Dem Hall field (approximately ¼ mile) throughout the day. Kedzie Reunion Society Luncheon

Members of Michigan State University’s 50-year class, the Class of 1968, will be honored and inducted into the Kedzie Reunion Society during Homecoming Week. The Kedzie Cane award will be presented to the oldest alumnus and alumna in attendance — a tradition started by former MSU President, Frank S. Kedzie, in 1931.

Join us for our 3rd annual Honors College ice cream social before the parade! We invite our alumni and their families to join us for a quick, fun and informal ice cream social at the Honors College. The Homecoming Parade travels down Abbot to Grand River and into campus at the Farm Lane entrance, and features more than 130 entries from student and community groups and MSU departments.

Spartan Spectacular Fireworks 
8:00 p.m.
Cherry Lane Field 
To keep energy from the parade high, MSU will set off fireworks and illuminate the sky from campus. Hosted by the Division of Student Affairs and Services, and sponsored by the MSU Alumni Association, the MSU Interfraternity and National Pan-Hellenic Greek councils, and the Residence Halls Association, spectators can view the fireworks show from Cherry Lane Field on Shaw Lane.

Homecoming Football Game

The MSU football team and Coach Mark Dantonio will take on the Wildcats of Northwestern University for the annual Homecoming football game. Half-time will feature the Spartan Marching Band, the 2018 Homecoming Court, Homecoming Grand Marshal, and the MSU Homecoming Parade award winners.
