This page will highlight events and happenings in host cities for each respective sport and tournament. Mens Basketball

Follow MSU Men’s Basketball throughout postseason tournament play. This section includes updates and fan event information tied to:

NCAA Men’s Basketball Tournament (March Madness) — MSU will play UConn in the Sweet `16 on Friday, March 27 at 9:45 p.m. at Capital One Arena in Washington, D.C.

  • Join Spartans at Hard Rock Cafe for a high-energy pep rally from 5-6:30 p.m. on Friday, March 27, before the big game. Enjoy complimentary food, beer and wine, with a cash bar available. Rally alongside Sparty, Spartan Brass, Michigan State Cheerleading and the Michigan State Dance Team, and connect with fellow Spartans and university leadership. Registration for this event has closed.

Spartan-Friendly Venues:

  • Irish Channel Restaurant & Pub, near Capital One Arena, will be a Spartan-friendly destination all weekend. Join the MSU Alumni Office and D.C. Spartans for an official game watch of the men's hockey quarterfinal game on Saturday, March 28 (puck drops at 4:30 p.m.). 

  • Union Pub, the D.C. Spartans' established game watch partner, will be another MSU-friendly gathering spot for the weekend, offering food, drinks and the chance to socialize with fellow alumni and fans.

Hockey

Stay connected as MSU Hockey skates into postseason competition. This section includes updates and fan event information tied to:

NCAA Men’s Ice Hockey Tournament — MSU will play Wisconsin in the quarterfinals on Saturday, March 28, at 4:30 p.m. at the DCU Center in Worcester, MA. 

  • Join the Boston Spartans and fans for a social gathering on the 2nd floor of The Mercantile on Saturday, March 28, from 1:30-4 p.m. before the hockey game. Located just a block from the DCU Center, the venue offers a large private space for alumni and fans to connect and get energized ahead of the big matchup. No RSVP is required — walk-ins are welcome, and attendees are responsible for purchasing their own food and beverages. An accessible entrance is available on the garage side of the building, with both stairs and an elevator providing access to the 2nd floor.
