It’s a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to represent MSU at major athletic events, community outreach programs, campus traditions and national appearances. You’ll develop skills in leadership, teamwork, communication and adaptability — all while building lifelong friendships and memories. It’s more than just wearing the suit, it’s about becoming part of something bigger than yourself.

EXTENDED DEADLINE: Applications are due by Wednesday, Sept. 9, 2026.

Be a full-time, enrolled undergraduate student at Michigan State University (minimum 12 credits).
Maintain a 3.0 or higher cumulative GPA.
Stand between 5'9" and 6'2" tall (without shoes).
Fit comfortably in the mascot suit.
Pass the criminal background check.
Pass the MSU driver certification.
Have an expected graduation date of Spring 2028 or later.

Please ensure all required documents are submitted with your application. Only use blue or black ink on handwritten forms.

Completed Application Form: Must include your handwritten signature.
Personal Essay: Submit a typed essay (500 words max.) detailing why you wish to represent Michigan State University as Sparty. Showcase key leadership experiences and relevant qualifications that make you a strong candidate for this role.
Health Record/Physical Examination Report: Provide a copy, dated within the last 12 months (available at Olin Health Center.)
Student Employment Background Check Authorization
Confidentiality Agreement
Driver Record Form
Driver’s License (front and back copies).
Proof of Health Insurance: Include documentation of your current health insurance coverage.
MSU Student ID (front and back copies)

Drop off at Spartan Stadium Tower, 3rd floor reception desk between Monday–Friday, 9 a.m.–4 p.m.
