MSU Homecoming Parade

MSU will celebrate Homecoming 2024 with a variety of activities for alumni, students, faculty, staff and community members Oct. 14-19.

The Homecoming Parade is a fun, annual tradition and is scheduled for Oct. 18. The parade route works its way through downtown East Lansing and the MSU campus. The parade features the Spartan Marching Band, Michigan high school marching bands, MSU campus groups, community organizations, university officials, Sparty and much more.

Homecoming Parade registration opens on this page Sept. 3.

Homecoming Theme

Our theme this year is Welcome Home, Spartans.

MSU alumni are known for their global impact. Students come from all corners of the globe and, after graduation, go on to make an impact in countless industries and locations. Every graduate has written their own story, with their own unique accomplishments. But whatever the future holds, there's one thing that unites all Spartans: coming home.

Parade Route

The parade route is approximately 1 ½ miles and takes about 45 minutes to 1 hour to complete. Parade entries must be able to complete the entire distance.
