Alumni Clubs Worldwide
Alumni clubs promote and enhance Michigan State University by offering programs and experiences within the communities they serve.
There are more than 100 alumni clubs worldwide that bring Spartans together for local events, activities and service opportunities.
The MSU Alumni Office (MSUAO) appreciates the continuous efforts of alumni and friends who serve in leadership roles within alumni clubs and affinity groups. It is our desire to cultivate an alumni culture that views participation in regional and interest-related alumni groups as a natural part of being a Spartan. MSUAO is committed to helping MSU alumni understand:
- Alumni clubs and groups are organizing and supporting MSU-related programming in their communities that would not exist without alumni resources, manpower and financial backing.
- Leaders of alumni clubs and groups are often viewed to represent MSU and MSUAO to the populations of alumni they interact with who may have no other connection to campus.
- Alumni clubs and groups are an important voice for MSU in their respective communities for their ability to echo key messages from campus. Conversely, they are critical partners to the University in relaying great stories about alumni in their communities back to campus.
- Alumni clubs and groups make significant contributions to the recruitment of students and the funding of regionally specific scholarships with thousands of students owing their MSU experience to the financial and physical support of these great Spartans. To date, alumni clubs have raised over $10 million for scholarships at MSU.
In some countries, there are no alumni clubs. However, you can find international alumni contacts who have volunteered to connect with alumni interested in engaging around the world with Michigan State University.
The MSU Alumni Office has staff dedicated to assisting alumni clubs in each geographic region. Please contact the alumni engagement director for your region for questions about your alumni club or starting a new club.
