Homecoming Parade Information

Bikes in the Homecoming ParadeThe MSU Homecoming Parade begins at 6:00 p.m. at the Hannah Community Center, travels down Abbot to Grand River, and into campus at the Farm Lane entrance.

The parade features more than 130 entries, including the Spartan Marching Band, the MSU Alumni Band, student organizations, MSU athletic teams and dance teams, MSU colleges and departments, Greek sororities and fraternities, East Lansing community groups, Michigan high school bands, and much more.

Homecoming Parade Registration

All student groups and community groups are encouraged to participate in the MSU Homecoming Parade and can register to do so by completing the online registration form (available in early September). Registration is only available online, and applications will be accepted up until parade staging capacity has been met.

MSU student groups, community groups, and elected officials are asked to follow guidelines to ensure enjoyment of the Homecoming Parade.

2016 Homecoming Parade Winners

The 2016 MSU Homecoming Parade featured more than 150 entries. Our judges selected the following floats as the best in class and members were recognized at halftime of the football game.

  • Best Float: The MSUBA Scholarship Students
  • Best Banner: International Students Association
  • Best Group: MSU Rodeo Club
  • Best Spartan Spirit: MSU Pompon
  • Best Community Group: Sorority House Moms
  • Best Campus Department: Residential and Hospitality Services
