Email Requests

  1. The community president should read and sign Memorandum of Understanding.

  1. Download MailChimp Data (if applicable):
Subscriber Data
1. Click Audience.
2. Click All Contacts.
3. If you have more than one audience, click the Current Audience drop-down and choose the one you want to work with.
4. Click View Segment, and choose the segment you want to export.
5. Click Export Segment.
6. After the export loads, click Export as CSV to download the file to your computer.
7. Email that file to myalumni@msu.edu along with the name of your community.
 
Unsubscribe Data
1. Click Audience.
2. Click All Contacts.
3. If you have more than one audience, click the Current Audience drop-down and choose the one you want to work with.
4. Click New Segment.
5. Set the drop-down menus to Email Marketing Status | is | Unsubscribed.
6. Click Preview Segment.
7. Click Export Audience.
8. After the export loads, click Export as CSV to download the file to your computer.
9. Email that file to myalumni@msu.edu along with the name of your community.

  2. Give us Four Business Days  
    Submit your request at least four full business days before the email needs to be sent. For example, if the email should go out on Friday, submit your request by 11 a.m. EST on Monday.
  3. Review the Project  
    Once your email is created, we will send you a preview at least one business day before the scheduled send date, if the request was submitted on time. Review the email, provide feedback if needed and we will make adjustments within one business day. Once approved, we will schedule the email to go out.

Email Frequently Asked Questions

Please submit requests at least four days in advance. We will build a preview and send it to you at least one business day prior to the requested send date. We will respond to notes within one business day. 

When we are able to anticipate a possible need for a quick email turnaround, we will work behind the scenes and with community leaders to accommodate that.

In an effort to share high-quality content with our alums, we will copy-edit and make editorial adjustments when needed.  

We will send a preview to you and additional board members that you select on the form.

You can write your own content, but we can help if desired. The survey allows options for us to fill in the blanks. Please include all necessary details if you are having us help with content.

Yes, the form allows you to upload images. We can also help provide stock photography and MSU images.

Website Requests

  1. Fill Out the Website Request Form 
    A member of our team will confirm the submission was received, clarify any questions about the project and develop a project timeline. 
  2. Give us Four Business Days  
    Please submit your request at least four full business days in advance to ensure we can complete your website update on time.
  3. Review the Project  
    Once your project is complete, you'll receive an email with a link to the updated page. Reply with any feedback and we'll make relevant changes. If no updates are needed, the project will be closed.

Website Frequently Asked Questions

Yes. Videos can be embedded on the site. We cannot host content on the website — they would need to be hosted on Vimeo, YouTube or a similar platform.

It depends on the project. If it is updating copy you've already created or editing a board member's bio, the lead time is minimal. If it's designing a new sub-page with no design plans, it will take longer.
