Dog Sledding & Ice Formations of Michigan's Upper Peninsula

This winter adventure offers you the opportunity to hook-up and drive your own dog team on a 10-mile guided dog sledding trip through the trails of Northern Michigan with MSU alumna Tasha Stielstra. With more than 150 Alaskan Huskies, Nature’s Kennel is Michigan’s premier dog sledding destination. Enjoy a bit of winter splendor with a trip to Tahquamenon Falls State Park where you will be led on a snowshoe hike to the falls. Learn about the geologic formation of the UP’s shoreline as you explore Eben Ice Caves and the ice formations of Grand Island National Recreation area with MSU alumnus Steve Tchozeski of the Great Lakes Geoscience. Accommodations are at Chamberlin’s Ole Forest Inn on Lake Manistique in Curtis, Michigan. This tour is limited to 10 people. Hiking to the ice formations includes mildly strenuous walking on slippery terrain but does not require climbing gear.
