Caleb Fraser - MSU 2023 Homecoming Court

Meet Caleb, 2023 Homecoming Court Member

Meet Caleb Fraser, a dedicated senior at MSU from Worland, Wyoming. Currently pursuing a Bachelor of Science Nursing degree at MSU's esteemed College of Nursing, Caleb is also a passionate musician and music enthusiast. Despite not being a music major, he is grateful for the abundant opportunities to make and experience music at MSU. He takes immense pride in being a Spartan, especially when performing with the Spartan Marching Band or singing with the oldest all-male acapella group, the Spartan Dischords.

In addition to his love for music, Caleb is deeply passionate about grief and the adversity people face when losing a loved one. Having lost his father to suicide a little over a decade ago, he has dedicated himself to learning more about mental health and the intricacies of grief. He currently volunteers at Ele's Place in Lansing, where he has witnessed firsthand the powerful impact of grief counseling and the importance of having a support system during difficult times.

Caleb strives to leave things better than he found them, a philosophy he carries with him in all aspects of his life, including his position on the Homecoming Court. As he interacts with others, he hopes to spread positivity, love and the Spartan Spirit to those around him.

His favorite spot on campus is the Sparty Statue. Whether driving by it or marching past it with the Spartan Marching Band into the stadium, he feels a strong sense of connection and pride to MSU in his interactions with the piece.

"I think that the most important thing you can learn is how to be an empathetic person. Empathy coupled with a desire to connect with people around you is what truly makes the world a better place."
