The Izzo Legacy Run/Walk/Roll

On April 15, 2023, the Izzo Legacy Run/Walk/Roll returns to East Lansing for a day of strength, camaraderie and community in support of the Izzo Legacy Foundation.

Lupe Izzo, Tom's wife, expressed her gratitude for the community they've been a part of for so long: “Tom and I have certainly been blessed, and we feel a genuine obligation to give back to the MSU and Mid-Michigan communities that have become such a large part of our lives. One of the reasons we’ve never left Michigan State is the connection to our community.”

The Izzo Legacy Run/Walk/Roll features a race for everyone, including a 5K run/walk, a 5K roll, a 1-mile walk, children's races and a virtual 5K. All proceeds from the event will be used to support important community organizations and causes.

Established in 2019, the Izzo Legacy Foundation is driven by its mission to unify the MSU and Greater Lansing Communities, encourage inclusivity, and honor Coach Izzo's values of Spartan loyalty, family, community and charitable giving. In this time of tragedy, the Izzo Legacy reaffirms its commitment to this mission.

In that spirit, the Izzo Legacy is making a $5,000 donation to MSU Safe Place and a $5,000 donation to Ele's Place in honor of Brian Fraser, Alexandria Verner and Arielle Diamond Anderson. MSU Safe Place is offering reflect and connect sessions for grieving MSU faculty, staff, and students. Ele’s Place is a resource for grief support for children, teens and their families. All services are provided at no cost.
