Your university class ring shows the world you can accomplish anything, and you can have it presented to you by the one that supported you through it all.
Michigan State University’s Ring March is held on campus every year for current students and graduates alike. Rings are kept in Beaumont Tower overnight under the watch of the Tower Guard, and are moved to the Spartan Statue the next day. Alumni and students receiving their rings meet at the Spartan Statue and march to Beaumont with their families, friends, and members of the Spartan Marching Band. In the tower courtyard, each Spartan is bestowed their ring by whomever they have chosen — an intimate moment to share with someone significant to their college experience.
In order to participate in the Ring March this fall, ring orders must be placed well in advance. Students and MSU alumni who have previously ordered their MSU ring can register for the event, and bring their ring to the MSU Alumni Association prior to the Ring March to be stored and guarded in Beaumont Tower overnight.
The next Ring March will be held on October 7, 2018.
One of the most special days for any Spartan is the day they receive their Spartan Ring. Alumni and students who’ve achieved junior status (at least sixty credits) are eligible to purchase a Spartan Ring. Anyone who has purchased a ring in the previous year can take part in the traditional Ring March on campus.
The official Spartan Ring represents all that Spartans hold dear. The official ring collection captures the spirit of pride and promise that has built the Michigan State tradition of excellence since 1855. Your official ring will keep you forever connected to the time and dedication spent earning your degree. You can choose from a beautiful traditional ring highlighting Sparty and key campus landmarks or a stylish Michigan State fashion ring. Traditionally, students wear their rings with the name of the university facing them. When they receive their degree at Commencement, the ring is turned so MSU faces out. This act symbolizes that they are now ready to make their mark in the world.
The Traditional MSU Spartan Ring has the school name and founding date around a beautiful green spinel stone. A Spartan crest may be mounted into the green stone. One side of the ring features the year of graduation with the Spartan Statue/Beaumont Tower/Spartan helmet. The other side features the degree letters and either a curriculum panel or the university seal.
Another Traditional MSU Spartan Ring option is the metal Signet top ring design. The MSU official school seal is on the top of the ring, and the year of graduation and degree are on the sides of the ring.
The inside of the rings may be personalized by engraving your full name or any personal information on a second line if desired.
The MSU Luxe Collection is more contemporary and also offers personalization on almost all designs.
Order your Spartan Ring today online, at the International Center Spartan Bookstore, Student Book Store, or the MSU Union Spartan Spirit Shop. Rings must be purchased well in advance to be available for the Ring March.
My daughter surprised me with a class ring for my birthday. It was extra special as it was the 40th anniversary of my graduation. I am so excited to have it. I wear it every day to show my pride and love of being a Spartan. I would have loved to have it sooner, but it’s never too late to get a class ring.
