Healing Hearts, Healing Hands

Marion Coleman, quilted imagery and words, dedicated to Nelson Mandela and his work to find an HIV cure.

Healing Hearts, Healing Hands

Quilters possess special powers. A number of them have stitched together moving creations in response to a loved one’s illness, disease, or disability. African-American artist Marion Coleman memorializes Nelson Mandela’s legacy in “HIV Positive: Reaching for a Cure.” You’ll ?nd it within the pages of Quilts and Health, which explores quilting as an art form and a therapy for both a creator and the recipient of a quilt. The beautifully illustrated book attests to the healing power of love and art.
