Student Spotlight: Rijul Mahajan
Meet Rijul Mahajan! She’s a senior majoring in Supply Chain Management with a minor in Environmental and Sustainability Studies. Rijul has also been chosen as one of the Commencement Speakers for the Baccalaureate Degree Ceremony for the 2024 Fall Semester.
She said her experience at MSU and the idea of leaving college with no regrets inspired her to become a speaker at the ceremony. Rijul hopes her speech will encourage others to say “yes” to as many things as possible and not be afraid to make mistakes along the way.
Originally from New Delhi, India, Rijul chose to come to MSU because of the university’s esteemed supply chain program and its strong community of international students. During her time here, she was a Dashney Women's Leadership Accelerator scholar, research lead in the Interdisciplinary Supply Chain Research Organization, member of the Broad International Students Council, and a Resident Assistant. Rijul said being a part of these organizations strengthened her professional skills and helped prepare her for life after graduation.
She said one of her favorite MSU memories was walking in the annual Homecoming parade, as she had never participated in one before. Her advice to incoming freshmen is to view college as a “fresh start” and use it as an opportunity to rebuild and focus on your passions. Rijul’s favorite part of the MSU community is the connections made between students on campus and with the large network of Spartan alumni around the world.
“That’s what really makes MSU special for me because it’s not just about the four years that you spend here, it’s what you take with you after the four years and the willingness of Spartans to still have that sense of community even after graduation.”
Following graduation, Rijul will join Kohler as a member of their Operations and Supply Chain Leadership Development Program.
