Student Spotlight: Kennedi Bryant

Meet Kennedi Bryant! Kennedi is a second-year Human Resources Management major and is passionate about being an advocate for underrepresented communities. She knew she wanted to go into Human Resources because she grew up seeing her mother in the same profession and loved that HR allows her to combine her interests in psychology and business.

Last year, Kennedi started ‘Black and Broad’ because she noticed that even though she was one of the few people of color in her classes, she was still able to utilize resources that helped her get into Broad and provide her with many opportunities. Through Black and Broad, she hopes to provide her peers with the same opportunities and act as a mentor to them; which is her favorite part about being the President of the organization.

Some pieces of advice she would give to fellow students who would like to start their own organization is to delegate to the people around them, believe in the abilities of those around you, utilize your resources and keep pushing when things get hard; and finally, always remember your mission and reason for your organization.

Kennedi can be reached at bryan109@msu.edu if you are interested in finding out more about Black & Broad. You can also follow their Instagram account to find out more!
