Homecoming 2024

Welcome Home, Spartans

As we approach the end of summer, the anticipation for one of the most cherished traditions at MSU builds. We're thrilled to invite alumni, friends and the entire Spartan community back to campus for Homecoming week, taking place Oct. 14-19. The theme, "Welcome Home, Spartans," sets the stage for an unforgettable time filled with celebration, pride and Spartan spirit.

Homecoming Parade: A Night of Spartan Spirit

Kick off the festivities on Friday, Oct. 18, at 6 p.m. with the Homecoming Parade in downtown East Lansing and across campus. Feel the excitement as vibrant marching bands, spirited community and campus groups and our beloved mascot, Sparty, take over the streets. The parade promises an evening of fun and festivity, perfect for Spartans of all ages.

The man and woman are standing behind the boys, who are sitting on the back of a yellow convertible car. The boys are dressed in green Spartans hoodies and hats, with one child wearing a red and white knit hat. Behind them, a crowd of parade attendees is visible, some holding signs, adding to the festive atmosphere of the event.     A group of nine Michigan State University cheerleaders, dressed in green tracksuits with the Spartan logo, pose together during the Michigan State University Homecoming Parade. The cheerleaders are holding white and green pom-poms and are standing in a row on a street lined with trees displaying fall foliage. In the background, there are other parade participants and spectators. The atmosphere is lively, with the cheerleaders smiling and showing team spirit.

Spartan Football: Game Day Thrills

MSU’s Homecoming is incomplete without the electrifying atmosphere of an exhilarating football game in Spartan Stadium. On Saturday, Oct. 19, cheer on the Spartans as they take on the University of Iowa Hawkeyes. Single-game tickets for the public are available on the Spartan Athletics website.
