Meet Sanaye, 2024 Homecoming Court Member
May 20, 2024Meet Sanaye Lewis — a remarkable senior from Kennesaw, Georgia. Sanaye is a dedicated student at the College of Engineering studying Computer Science, with a minor in Cognitive Science. She is also a proud member of MSU’s prestigious Honors College.
As an out-of-state student, Sanaye strived to find where she belonged on MSU’s campus and in Michigan — something she succeeded in and hopes to help others with. As a part of Honor’s College IMPACT, she has become a passionate advocate for equity and intersectionality. Sanaye’s experiences as a woman in computer sciences led her to become the Lead Administrator for Women in Engineering, K-12 Outreach where she is dedicated to helped underprivileged students in Michigan and across the globe gain access and support within the field of science. Her commitment to supporting and mentoring women and other underrepresented students interested in coding and technology is inspiring. Sanaye’s advocacy and compassion for others is part of what makes her a Spartan.
Some of her favorite places on campus include the STEM building and walking around campus, especially the Red Cedar River. She is proud to be part of a school that has so much spirit and pride. By representing her fellow Spartans on this year’s Homecoming Court, she hopes to show that everyone’s voice deserves to be heard and that each Spartan can make a difference. Sanaye loves the idea that no matter where she goes, she will always find a Spartan.
