Spartans from graduating classes of 50 or more years ago are invited to return to campus at Homecoming for this year’s Kedzie Reunion Luncheon. Welcome the 50-year class into the society as you reminisce with friends and see who receives this year’s Kedzie Cane Award.
Due to the ongoing pandemic, the Kedzie Reunion Luncheon celebrating the Class of 1970 has been postponed until May 21, 2021.
Starting in 1929 at the suggestion of former MSU president Dr. Frank S. Kedzie, MSU began hosting an event called the Patriarchs’ Luncheon for alumni who graduated 50 or more years ago. It was at the third annual Patriarchs’ Luncheon that the Kedzie Cane was presented to the oldest living alumnus in attendance, Daniel Strange, class of 1867. The 37” coffee wood cane was donated by Dr. Kedzie and was previously owned by his father, William Kedzie. The Patriarchs’ Luncheon was eventually renamed the Kedzie Society Luncheon and continues annually. Each year the Alumni Office presents the Kedzie Cane Award to both the oldest male and female in attendance.
A block of rooms has been reserved at the Kellogg Hotel and Conference Center. Be sure to reserve your room before April 20, 2021 using the code 2105KEDZIE.
